Staff Handbooks
It is good practice for employers to provide all employees with a staff handbook so that both parties are clear about their rights and responsibiilities.
A staff handbook should include:
- Job description
- Employer expectations with regard to conduct
- Disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Data protection policies
- Redundancy policy
- Policies for annual leave, maternity leave, paternity and parental leave and the right to apply for flexible working
- Policies in regard to equal opportunities, the prevention of discrimination, and bullying or harassment
